Skarpyon

The story so far.

Skarpyon is the stage name of Shernelle Williams, a ragga soca artiste whose career began in 2004. Searchlight reported that he won the Ragga Soca crown in 2004 with "On Fire" and took it again in 2011 with "She Tell Me" at Victoria Park, finishing ahead of Bomani and Fya Empress. In 2012 his single "Wine In," produced by Kamal Archibald of Sound Domain Studio, led many listeners to believe they were hearing Buju Banton, because Skarpyon had imitated that singer's voice as a child before developing his own mellow style. The same article names other songs of his, including "Soca Connect," "Hammer and Conks" and "Fun Fair." His YouTube channel carries later releases such as "Lay Pipe," posted for Vincy Mas 2023, and "Big Road." His Deezer page also lists the 2023 album Full Control (Then & Now). For a first listen, try "Lookin Fine" and then "Lay Pipe."
