Fimba is the stage name of Fimber Jardine, a Vincentian soca artiste who has lived in New York with his family for about 14 years, according to a 2018 iWitness News report. His path began in the 1980s, when he won the Junior Calypso Competition once as a student at Cane End Primary School, and he later reached the Soca Monarch finals four times. In 2018 he entered the Ragga Soca Monarch for the first time and won with "Funky Business," beating 12 rivals including Hance John and L Pank even though he flew in from New York too late for a sound check. The song grew from a track that fellow ragga soca artiste Skarpyon played him during a trip the two made to Ontario, Canada. Other songs named in that report include "Be Yourself," his junior calypso entry written by Gerard "Rasum" Shallow, "Steel Bottom" and "That's Why You Get Horn." He followed with "Neighbor," released as ragga soca in 2019, and "Chance" with Kennie Montana for Vincy Mas 2026.
