Ragga soca contender who stepped onto the calypso stage in 2026.
Behind the music
The story so far.
BongoPrime, also written Bongo Prime, is the stage name of Utamu Rose. iWitness News first listed him in 2017 as half of the ragga soca duo Prime Time with Devonte Peters, a finalist in that year's Ragga Soca Monarch. He placed third in the 2022 Ragga Soca Monarch with "Chemistry," then second in 2024 with "Special Invitation," scoring 220 points behind Hance John. In 2025 he made both national finals, entering the Ragga Soca Monarch with "Mardi Gras (Trouble in Town)" and the Soca Monarch with "Maddest Place," released online as "Maddest Place on Earth." In 2026 he entered the Calypso Monarch for the first time with "The Messenger," and iWitness News described him in that report as a former Ragga Soca Monarch. His YouTube channel also carries "Bun Dem 7X," and "City" appeared on The Canon Event project for Vincy Mas 2026. Start with "Maddest Place on Earth."
