Chewalee Johnson, known as "The Rumist," won the Ragga Soca Monarch at Vincy Mas 2016 with "Rumist," finishing ahead of Shaunelle McKenzie and Keido. iWitness News reported that it was his first attempt at the title and his first time singing soca at all; that same season he had reached the semi finals of the Calypso Monarch. He described himself as a culture man across calypso, soca and pan, and credited producer Lester Iroha. He came back in 2019 with "Rum Cheaper Than Woman," which placed third in the Ragga Soca final behind Hance John and Fireman. His YouTube channel also carries "Legacy," a 2023 soca release, and his Deezer catalog lists singles such as "Play Soca," "Withdrawal Symptoms," "Mas Debating" and "Feeling fuh Liquor." Start with "Rum Cheaper Than Woman," which has an official music video on his channel, then go back to the original "Rumist."
