Jamesy P is the stage name of James Morgan, a Vincentian soca singer born on 18 May 1970 who once worked as a barber. His signature song "Nookie" first came out in 2002 and broke wide in 2005, when it reached number 14 on the UK Singles Chart; the charting 2005 single was credited with Jabba and M.I.A. as featured artists. That same year Searchlight reported that he had become the first Vincentian to reach the Soca Monarch finals in Trinidad and Tobago, performing the song produced by Master Room Studios. He has kept releasing music since then. "Soca Land" arrived as 2019 soca and "Grand Style" was issued for Vincy Mas 2025. His Deezer catalog also lists the 2008 album De Red Boyz: Mo' Fire Blazin' and singles such as "Head Over Heels" and "Run Away." Begin with the original "Nookie" and then move on to his later carnival releases to hear how his sound has developed.
