Hypa 4000 is the stage name of Shane Husbands, a soca artiste who worked as a DJ under the name Shaney Hypez and as a radio personality before stepping up to the microphone himself. He comes from Sion Hill, and iWitness News reported in 2015 that he had started making soca about four years earlier. His early releases included "Snap Shot" in 2011, which earned him the nickname wine up king, "Show Me You Wuk Up" in 2013 and "Habitual" in 2014 with Grenadian artiste Laura Lisa. "Dutty Dancing," written with producer 4th Element, won the Vincy Mas Road March in 2015. A year later "No Behaviour" gave him a second straight Road March title ahead of Problem Child's "Rum Jumbie," and he also took the 2016 Power Soca Monarch crown, his second in two years according to the same outlet. "Too Hard" is another 2015 release worth hearing alongside those two winners.
