Ti Blacks is the stage name of Deshawn Augustin, described by The Voice as a calypsonian and soca artiste. He grew up in the south of Saint Lucia, in Bruce Ville and Chocolate City Pierrot, and studied at Vieux Fort Primary, Anse Ger Secondary and Sir Arthur Lewis Community College. He credits his late mother for his love of music and names Arthur Allain as the mentor who gave him his start. In 2022 he won the Chantè Kweyol King title, missed out on the calypso final after a dispute over a song's eligibility, and then finished first runner-up in the Groovy Soca Monarch as a newcomer with Purge Them Out. A year later, representing the South Calypso Tent, he was crowned 2023 Calypso Monarch with Won't Regret Minelle and The Ghetto Cries. He returned to the Groovy final in 2024 with Seasons, recorded with WiLDXFiRE, and in 2025 with What is Mine. Check Kó'w was his 2023 carnival release.
