Onicka Joseph, whose name also appears as Onikha or Onika Joseph on releases, is an educator and calypsonian who won the national Calypso Monarch crown at the 2018 Mashramani season. News Source Guyana reported that she scored 246 points at the National Park with "Woman is Boss", a tribute to the strength of women in Guyana whose chorus the audience sang back whenever she cued them. Her win dethroned Diana Chapman, who finished third, while King Perai took second place. The paper described her sitting in disbelief when her name was called before returning to the stage to celebrate with supporters. A year later Guyana Times named her as the reigning Calypso Monarch preparing to defend her title against ten finalists at the National Park Tarmac. Kross Kolor Records released her "Side Chick" as a 2019 calypso, and she also recorded "Keep Death Off The Road". News Source Guyana posted footage of her winning performance on its YouTube channel.
