Behind the music

The story so far.

Mighty Tattoo is the stage name of Richard Quandt, also spelled Quant, a singer with Zeta Band who competes in both the caiso and soca categories of a carnival monarch contest. That contest is the Aruba Caiso and Soca Monarch. The Daily Herald reported that he placed third in the 2020 competition with "Carnival is we", behind Antoni Gario of LeGroove and Tony "T Money" Mingo. In 2024 Aruba Today listed him third in the Caiso category with "Let It Go", a song he composed, arranged by Hubert Thiel. Two years later he was third again, this time in the 2026 Soca Monarch with "Right or Wrong", according to Aruba Today and 24ora. The competition's YouTube channel also carries his 2023 prefinal performance of "Don't Mess With The Black Man" and a power soca entry, "Till The Morning". Other uploads include "One More Time" and "Pata Pata" with Zeta Band and a television clip titled "Soca Tattoo". Three podium finishes across 2020, 2024 and 2026 show how steady his results have been.
