Behind the music

The story so far.

Naamix is an artist from Martinique who works mainly in reggae and dancehall, according to his Qobuz biography. He started out performing freestyles in Martinique's secondary schools, drawing on Sizzla, Vybz Kartel and Martinican names like Homme Paille and X-Man, and committed fully to music in 2016. His first hit came in 2020 with "Pa karé ba lambi a", followed by "Caliente" and a remix of "Boum Boum" with Blicassty. ChabineProd took him on in January 2021, and "Lokal" came out under that deal, then "Mytho" with Dasha and the autobiographical "Marvin". His first EP, To be continued, arrived in October 2022 with guests including Staniski, Sael, Warped, Dasha and Marginal. He also records shatta: his channel carries "Shatta rétro" with Danthology and Yanishi, and his catalogue includes a track titled "Dancehall Shatta", and in 2024 he released "Un pote" with N'Ken.
