Young Chang MC, born Yoni Sama in Paris in 1988 to a family from Guadeloupe, is a dancehall singer and rapper who grew up in Guadeloupe after his parents moved back when he was six, according to his Qobuz biography. He absorbed zouk and kompa there, followed his brother and sister, who had formed the 1980s duo David et Corine, into music, and in 2006 appeared on 100 Zanmi by the group Génésiz. Two years later he started a weekly video series, Lyrics de la semaine. His album En Forme came out in 2010, followed by the reissue En Forme Match Retour in 2011 and the hit "Chokola vany". Later albums include Boomerang in 2017 and Faim de Promenade in 2021, and in 2024 "Pas de soleil" reached number 27 on the French overseas chart. His clips include "Sauvage" with Shannon, "Madame" with X-Man and "Index Majè" with T'Dedonia and Cécinelle.
