Behind the music

The story so far.

Admiral T is Christy Campbell, a Guadeloupean singer whose early recording history includes Karukera Sound System. Universal’s biography traces his sound-system beginnings and the recording of Rapide before the solo album Mozaïk Kréyòl. That album’s 2003 Antillean release and expanded 2004 reissue are separate milestones. Toucher l’Horizon followed in 2006, with collaborators including Diam’s and Kassav’. His repertoire connects dancehall with lovers rock, gwoka, rap, zouk and soca, so a single streaming genre label describes only part of the picture. The selected listening entries and source-bound catalog keep later editions and collaborations visible without treating every shared title as the same recording.
