Behind the music

The story so far.

N'Ken is an artist from Martinique who specialises in shatta dancehall, and her Qobuz biography dates the start of her professional career to 2012. Qobuz names her most popular track as "Walpa 2", released in 2023 with Mikado, and its official clip is labelled Dancehall Shatta. Mikado returns on "Menti", one of several Creole singles she put out in 2024 alongside "Que du sale" and "I Ja Ley". She has worked with Naamix and Marcus as well, and "Un pote" with Naamix appears on both artists' Deezer pages. In 2025 she featured on "Shatta Confessions" by Meryl and released singles such as "Y'a Quoi" and "La vie que je mérite". She also appears with Shaydee's on VJ Lou's "Kalman". An RTBF article on the genre cites her among the artists bringing a feminist voice to shatta.
