Behind the music

The story so far.

Kryssy is a singer from Martinique whom her Qobuz biography credits with a major influence on dancehall shatta. She grew up in a family of performers, encouraged by parents who sang, and Sorrow, her older brother who leads the group APK, helped shape her early steps. She first made her name in 2015 on "We a Wine" with MT. "Dem a fraid" followed in 2017, and its clip on Sorrow's channel is tagged as a shatta video. "Bad Cendrillon", recorded with Dj Glad, then widened her audience. She then put out "Marionettes" with Natoxie and, in 2021, a short EP with Shannon, and in 2022 came the solo release Done, which includes "Dopamine". Her more recent singles include "Up and Down" with Foxii and "Mister Plata" in 2025, and the KILOS EP in 2026.
