Behind the music
The story so far.
Mantius is a soca artist whose own channel documents a competition run going back to the 2005 Soca Monarch, with a first runner-up finish in the Soca Monarch with Give Us A Reason. Carnival releases followed through the late 2000s and early 2010s, including She Want Iron in 2009 and Horn Free in 2011, alongside the single Skin To Skin. In 2015 Mantius was named among the Groovy Soca Monarch finalists, and in 2019 placed third in the Power Soca Monarch with Fire Under My Feet. The 2020s brought more contests. Go Bananas came out as a 2023 soca release, and in 2024 Mantius qualified for both finals, with Royal in the Groovy category and Any Ting in the Power category. In 2025 came a return to the Groovy contest with They Wrong For That.
