Cupid is the stage name of Herman Francis, a calypsonian who has competed in Montserrat's calypso contests for well over a decade. Discover MNI reported that he won the ArrowFest 2010 Calypso Monarch with 774 points, his second monarch title in three years. His songs that night were "The Tree" and "Before I Die", and "Before I Die" also earned him the prize for Most Creative Composition. He finished ahead of Black Jaguar and the previous year's monarch, Kandie. Discover Montserrat has filmed many of his later appearances, including "In Love With Me X" at the 2017 Calypso Finals, "Check Your Health" at the 2018 finals, "50,000 Chinese" on the 2020 King of Kings show, and "I Didn't Get De Memo" and "Child of the Sixties" in 2022. At the 2023 Montserrat Calypso Finals he sang "Who is the Montserratian" and "ASSI".
