Behind the music

The story so far.

Burning Flames is a soca band from Antigua, formed in 1984 by three Edwards brothers, Toriano, David and Clarence, together with their nephew Rone "Foxx" Watkins on drums. Before the band took shape, the brothers worked as buskers, and Clarence and Toriano had played in the backing band of Arrow. The group made its mark at the 1985 Antigua Road March with "Stiley Tight", which became its debut single the following year. "Workey Workey" carried the band abroad in 1989, and in 1991 it released the album Dig on Mango Records. More Road March wins followed through the 1990s, including "Magician (I Command You)" in 1999, and the band took the title again in 2007 with "Papi". In 2025 the band marked its 40th anniversary, and the Carifesta site reported a soca concert appearance in Barbados that August. Start with "Workey Workey" and "Swim".
