Blaka Dan, born Wrenroy Ogiste and listed as Blacka Dan in several competition results, won Grenada's 2013 Groovy Soca Monarch with "Whole Day We Jammin'", scoring 430 points ahead of Scholar and Shortpree. He then stayed away from competition for several years. On his return in 2017 he tied for second in the Groovy final with Lavaman and Terra D Governor, two points behind Dash. NOW Grenada reported that he was a little disappointed but respected the judges, and that he planned to rebrand. In 2024 he finished fourth in the Groovy Soca Monarch with 423 points, and he was back in the Groovy final in 2026, placing seventh. His single "Blessing" was released on his own channel as a 2025 soca track. He followed it with "Family", made with Loyalty Family Production, for 2026. DJ Socaholic's upload of "Whole Day We Jammin" preserves his monarch winning song.
