Behind the music
Finber "Shortpree" Andrew, whose first name also appears as Fimbar in some reports, is a soca singer with a long record in Grenada's Groovy Soca Monarch. Spicemas results published by NOW Grenada list him first in the 2014 Groovy final with "For The Sake" and first again in 2015. In 2016 commentator Arley Gill called his music mature and sophisticated, praising "Set the Mood" and "Mas Well Played". After a five-year break from competition he returned in 2025 and placed third in the Groovy final with "Bouquet Now", a song whose idea came from a near-fatal accident, staged with a coffin decoy and dancers dressed as sunflowers. In February 2026 the Ministry of Carriacou and Petite Martinique Affairs presented him with a Cultural Ambassador award. A 2012 upload of "Spice Island Summer" is labelled Groovy Soca Monarch King, and later releases include "Everybody Going" on the Climate Change Riddim in 2019 and "D Bad Guy" for 2026.
