Behind the music

The story so far.

Pumpa is the performing name of Dennis Lennox Liburd Jr., a soca singer based in the US Virgin Islands. The Trinidad Guardian has described him as a native of St Kitts. In August 2026 the Legislature of the Virgin Islands honoured him for his contributions to music, alongside other recipients, with plans to present him the key to the territory and to put his name on the 6-Y Peter's Rest Road entrance in Christiansted, according to The Virgin Islands Consortium. At the ceremony he dedicated the recognition to young people in the music business. His recorded catalogue on YouTube spans more than a decade. Massage, credited to Bosco Beats and Beatdown Studio, appears as a 2012 US Virgin Islands release, and Letter M on the Gabba Riddim is labelled 2013 Virgin Islands soca. VI Up and Selfie followed as 2015 soca releases. The official music video for The A List is posted on his own Pumpa Music channel, which collects his videos in one place.
