Behind the music

The story so far.

Imagination Brass is a carnival band with a long run on the road. Wikipedia's survey of Virgin Islands music names it alongside Milo and the Kings, Mandingo Brass and Eddie and the Movements, the group later known as the Jam Band. That article credits Imaginations Brass, as it spells the name, with being the first group there to use electronic drums and keyboard sequencers, a move that other bands such as Seventeen Plus and the Jam Band later pushed further. The approach blends drum machines, keyboards, vocals and bass lines into one carnival sound. On YouTube, Zoom Zoom and All Out Posse are shared on the Riddim Galore channel, and a greatest hits upload labelled V.I. soca leads with Teresa Rocking, giving newer listeners a quick route into the band's road music. Live footage shows the band still performing, including a 2026 set at the St. Thomas Carnival Village and a separate live show with Onyan of Burning Flames as a guest.
