General Grant is a Trinidad-born performer whose Apple Music biography says he started out as a toaster and DJ at shows in his home country before moving into reggae and hip-hop, with soca and dancehall running through his sound. His early catalog includes the single Soca Veggie from 1995, Lootala on the Soca Gold 1997 compilation and the 1998 album Mr. Energizer. Soca Make Yuh Ram Ram appeared on the Ragga Binghi collection, and Looking to Wine landed on Soca Gold 2010. He has worked with other soca names too, featuring on Benjai's World Stage in 2014 and pairing with Bunji Garlin on Time To Wine for the 2016 Trinidad carnival season. Newer singles include Normal, Booty Bouncing, Steam and Balance. In 2026 he released Soca Island, written by Curtis Grant and produced by Juelio Productionz, a song in which he calls himself a Trini to the bone.
