Karene Asche is a Trinidad and Tobago calypsonian and the daughter of the late Errol Asche, according to her Bocas Lit Fest biography. In 2011, aged 26, she won the Calypso Monarch title, becoming only the fourth woman to do so after Calypso Rose, Singing Sandra and Denyse Plummer. Caribbean Beat reported that her winning songs were Uncle Jack and Careful What You Ask For, and quoted her saying her heart is in calypso. The same Bocas biography says she won the Caribbean King of Kings of Calypso competition in St Kitts in 2012 and took the regional Queen of Queens crown in Montserrat in 2017 and 2019. Her recordings on Apple Music include Private on the Uncle Joe Riddim in 2021, The Assignment on the Bouncy Ting Riddim in 2022 and No Business Dey on the Bhangraton Riddim in 2023. In 2025 she joined Mical Teja on We Calypso, and she took Nobody Wins Until to the Dimanche Gras calypso finals in 2026.
