Herb Black is a calypsonian from Anse la Raye, Saint Lucia, whose tent career goes back to at least 1990. The Voice recalls him singing I Nah 'Fraid at a 1990 tent show and Calypso Jail the following year, calling him a fellow Anse la Rayan of Walleigh, and an archive upload of Calypso Jail is credited to Herb Black of Saint Lucia. In 2010 he released I Eh For King, posted as Lucian soca and calypso. In 2018 he and his sister Black Pearl, performing as the duo The Blacks, opened the semi-final with Blackman and Who is this Guy and went through to the Calypso Monarch final. Representing the TOT/Soca Village tent, he stepped into the 2023 final when Walleigh withdrew. He was a finalist again in 2024 with Sing for Them and Get Up And Walk, was singled out in The Voice's 2025 kaiso preview for Juju Time and Is Us That Deh, and made the 2026 final for the Take Over Tent with Ugly Woman and St. Jude. Calabash TV has also filmed his No Ferandam.
