Behind the music
Disip, often written diSip and billed as Disip de Gazzman Couleur, is the konpa band singer Gazzman Couleur formed after leaving Nu Look in 2010. The Haitian Times reported that its first single, Pa Kondane m, released in March 2010, addressed his exit, and that the band's Easter weekend debut still drew an estimated 3,000 people without an album. A standout early show came at Kreyolfest 2010, where Gazzman walked out of the crowd singing Legacy, his best known Nu Look song. After the debut album leaked, the band rushed out Mission during a 30-day tour of Haiti; tracks included Ban'm Gaz and the bolero duet My Angel with Rose Herby. Later Deezer releases include Viktwa in 2013 and Klere Yo in 2016. The Haitian Times named Disip, with Gazzman Couleur at the helm, among the konpa groups that lifted Port-au-Prince's end-of-year concerts in 2025.
