Daddy Chess is the stage name of Chester Letang, a calypsonian whose recordings span more than two decades. A recording of "Your Destiny Depends on You" is labelled as calypso from 2001. In 2019 he moved into bouyon with "Voltage Up" on the Champion Riddim, released as a 2019 bouyon track. That year he also featured on "Bumpa Fete" from Cornell Phillip's DeBouyon Riddim, a song written by Carlyn Xavier Phillip and produced by Cornell Phillip and Brent Samuel. For the 2026 season he released "Roof Leaking", which he wrote and composed and co-produced with Peter Letang, who also handled the music and arrangement and recorded it at KASP Studios. The video has passed 43,000 views. He took the song to the calypso finals in February 2026, where he also performed "Beauty and the Beast", in a set filmed and shared by BrBpTV.
