Checko is a calypsonian who has competed in calypso seasons for well over a decade. In 2012 TheDominican.net wrote that his songs "AM/PM" and "Bug" were getting strong reviews and gave him a real chance at the crown. Later entries on YouTube include "Doh Prick Me" during Mas Domnik 2016 and "Take Out the Teeth", his 2019 song. Soca News published the semi-final line-up for the 2025 Dominica Calypso Monarch, which drew twenty acts from a quarter-final field of thirty-two, and Checko was among them. He then made the nine-strong final, held on 1 March 2025 at Windsor Park Forecourt, alongside former monarchs including King Dice, Karessah, Bobb and Tasha P. His 2025 song "Biyo Prayers" is posted on YouTube by Owen Media.
