Behind the music

The story so far.

Cécinelle is an independent artist from Martinique whose rise is tied to social media. Her Qobuz biography says a TikTok challenge built on her track "Santorini" in November 2020 was taken up tens of thousands of times, and she has stayed in the shatta dancehall lane ever since. The producer Mikado is a constant presence in her work. He produced "An Lè'y", which went out on his own YouTube channel, and the official clip for "Dubaï" carries his name in its title. Her Deezer catalogue lists further singles including "Punany", "Kanté" and "Ti Buzz" in 2023, "Indèx Majè" in 2024, and "DING DONG" and "SI PLAN" in 2025. Her 2026 releases include "Who Bad Like Dat" and a sequel titled "An Lè'y 2". The Belgian broadcaster RTBF, in an article on the genre, names her among the artists giving shatta a feminist edge.
