Steven Ramphal, sometimes spelled Stephen in Guyanese press reports, is a chutney soca singer who has competed in both the chutney and soca contests of Mashramani. News Source Guyana reported that in his 2019 Soca Monarch debut he placed second, one point behind Brandon Harding, with "Soca in My Vein", and took the Best Newcomer prize. His performance traced soca to the meeting of African and Indian sounds and brought African and tassa drummers on stage together. That same season he took the Chutney Monarch from Bunty Singh. In 2020 he was second in the Soca Monarch again with "The Same", and Guyana Times reported that he also finished second in the Chutney Monarch after performing with an injured voice against his doctor's advice. His music videos carry Chutney Soca tags, from "Never Leave You" and "In De Backyard" in 2021 to "Love You Forever" in 2022 and "All I Want" and "Weh De Rum" in 2026.
