Behind the music

The story so far.

Raymond Ramnarine is a singer and songwriter associated with Dil E Nadan. In a 2016 interview he said he was born in San Fernando and grew up in Gasparillo, which remained central to his sense of home. The interview describes his work with brothers Richard and Rennie in the band. Ramnarine recalled writing Someday in 2005 and later Marriding, the song connected to his 2013 Chutney Soca Monarch win. He also discussed the place of traditional chutney in his listening, alongside calypso and soca favorites by David Rudder, Mighty Sparrow and Bunji Garlin. Nack ah Ting and Show Me are two selected recordings credited jointly to him and Dil-E-Nadan. His provider catalog also contains individual releases and further collaborations. Those digital editions are kept distinct from the earlier band history and competition performances, and a recent storefront date is not substituted for the historical year described in his interview.
