Behind the music

The story so far.

Lord Lally is the stage name of Soilo Sanchez, a veteran soca contestant who took the 2026 Soca Monarch crown. 24ora reported that he had been taking part since 1978 before finally winning the crown, and called him Aruba's Soca King 2026. His winning song, "The Lizard Kacking", was composed by Sanchez, arranged by Emil Krozendijk and performed with the Hot Ones Band. Aruba Today wrote that he did not make the final at first, but fans rallied for him and he won an audience poll set up by Stichting Musica to bring one eliminated act back, then took the title ahead of Diamond Chip, Mighty Tattoo, Galloway and Mitch. 24ora also described the song as a 1980s style road march that pulled large crowds and noted that Jeon and Steve Andreas helped polish it for the final. After the season he released "Love Me Baby", which 24ora described as mixing Aruban soca with a romantic feel.
