Behind the music

The story so far.

Kevin Lyttle is a Vincentian soca singer best known for Turn Me On. LargeUp, recounting the song’s history in 2014, says the song was composed and recorded in the first months of 2001 for that summer’s Vincy Mas, and that Atlantic Records signed him and officially released it as a single featuring Spragga Benz in September 2003. Searchlight, carrying a 2004 Hardbeatnews report, described him as a Vincy national taking his small island of St Vincent onto the Billboard charts with that dancehall-flavoured version, ahead of his self-titled album. The listening entries below separate edition-level observations; provider dates for those editions are not treated as the 2001 carnival release.
