Claudette Peters

The story so far.

Claudette “CP” Peters is an Antiguan soca singer. A biographical post on the Petra the Spectator website, published in November 2022, traces her training with the Anglican Youth Choir and her schooling at Mary E Pigott School and Ottos Comprehensive School, followed by work on the hotel circuit and with bands including Ken Phoenix & Company, Dread & the Baldhead, High Intensity, Da Bhann and the TaxiK Band. It credits Something’s Got A Hold on Me, with Da Bhann in 2002, with first bringing her a regional audience. In 2005 she released All I Know and, according to the post, became the first woman to win Antigua and Barbuda’s Soca Monarch, a title she held from 2005 through 2008 before taking a break in 2009. The post also records her selection in 2013 as one of five Cultural Envoys named by the Ministry of Culture. A February 2026 Discover Montserrat festival announcement lists Out Deh and Nat U among her later carnival songs.
