Behind the music

The story so far.

Joé Dwèt Filé is the stage name of Joé Gilles, a singer whom The Haitian Times describes as blending konpa with R&B and afrobeats, and whom both that paper and Wikipedia call Franco-Haitian. He started singing in church and later moved into zouk and konpa, forming the band Lespada and releasing the mixtape #ESOLF in June 2018 and the 15-track album À deux in March 2019, according to Wikipedia, which names Jolie madame with Ronisia as his biggest hit on the French singles chart. His breakout 4 Kampé passed 100 million streams, and a later version, 4 Kampe II, features Burna Boy. In 2025 he won Best Caribbean-Inspired Song at Les Flammes in France and was nominated for the BET Award for Best International Act. That spring Haitian musician Fabrice Rouzier sued in New York, claiming 4 Kampé copied his 2002 song Je Vais; the singer answered on Instagram, let's meet in court. Fans also know Fem Voyé, Rihanna and Doucement with Fally Ipupa.
