Behind the music

The story so far.

Isaac Blackman is the youngest member of the Blackman family, the children of Ras Shorty I, the Trinidad musician who developed jamoo. Caribbean Beat describes jamoo as a gospel and soca hybrid. A 2004 Caribbean Beat profile of the family placed him in Tunapuna and noted that he had just released his first CD, In Your Eyes. ebuzztt later wrote that he had taken the jamoo genre his father invented to many countries, and pointed to To The Ceiling as his 2006 hit. Its 2013 piece on the single Blessing Me noted cameos from Machel Montano and video director Remy Rembunction. His album World Changers came out in 2011 on JGN Records, with songs such as Sweet Music and Just Say God. In 2020 he released the four track EP This Is Jamoo through Prospero Entertainment, opening with Happy Day. He is also credited on Christafari's song Beautiful alongside his sister Avion Blackman.
