Farenite is the stage name of Samuel Selkridge, a gospel minister born in Chaguanas, Trinidad and Tobago, according to a January 2020 Trinidad Express feature. He serves at Heaven Touching Earth International Ministries in Enterprise, Chaguanas. His 16-track album Transit, released through the Fox Fuse label, moves across styles that he told the paper include reggae and soca. Its track "Watch Dem" picked up airplay on non-gospel radio, and a line from "Still Standing" was already being called a listener favourite. Ahead of the 2020 Gospel Music Awards of Trinidad and Tobago he was a finalist in five categories, among them Album of the Year and Male Artiste of the Year. His own YouTube channel carries the earlier "Champions" video, labelled Soca 2014. In 2025 he released "Freedom Is Mine" with Judah Peters, a single Apple Music files under soca, and in 2024 he shared the single "Till Morning" with Marc Isaacs.
