Soca outfit that paired Kees Dieffenthaller with Michelle Xavier.
Behind the music
Imij & Co. is a soca outfit that served as a launch pad for Kees Dieffenthaller before he started Kes. Caribbean Beat named Imij and Co among the Trinidadian bands that had played the Decibel music showcase, and described Dieffenthaller as a former frontman who paired with singer Michelle Xavier on songs such as "Hypnotise", "One Day" and "The Way". The magazine said he spent about three years with the band before breaking away in the mid 2000s with his brothers Hans and Jon and bassist Riad Boochoon. The band carried on after his exit. Xavier's name stayed tied to the band, and "Fetting For Days" was released with her credited alongside the band for the 2011 soca season. Uploads from the earlier years include "One Day" from 2003, "Push" and "Hypnotized", while footage from 2005 shows the band playing live on IWER TV, and a 2014 clip on the band's own channel captures "Big People Party" at Friends to the Max.
