Behind the music

The story so far.

Eggy Dan is the stage name of Marvin Lewis, a soca singer who grew up in Paradise Heights, Morvant, in Trinidad and moved to the United States in 2002. A 2023 Caribbean Today feature describes him as New York based and says he started recording professionally in 2012, bringing a ragga soca energy to his songs. The same piece lists earlier releases Moksha and Wet, plus Afro Wine with fellow US based singer Reecey, and says a second duet with her, Stink Waist, was on the way. It also previews Frolic, written by Jason Shaft Bishop and produced by Shaft with Lunatix Productions in Trinidad, with mastering by Andrew Denny. His catalogue on YouTube runs back to Lisa, posted as a 2018 soca release, and forward to Dem Not Dey and Funk It Up for the 2026 season. Big Wave, labelled for the 2027 season, is his most recent title on the JulianspromosTV channel, which also carries his official audio for Lisa, Dem Not Dey and Funk It Up.
