Behind the music

The story so far.

Rreecey is the stage name of Cherreece Bernard, a soca singer from Belmont, Trinidad, who has lived in the United States since 2005. Socanews reported in December 2023 that she had studied under Singing Sandra and worked with her at the calypso tents in New York in 2014, and that her single Auto Body, written with Jason Shaft Bishop, would mark her soca debut at home for the 2024 Trinidad Carnival season. She has shared stages with Patrice Roberts, Destra and Peter Ram, according to that report. A July 2025 Socanews piece introduced Foundation, a power soca song written for her by Teddy Rhymes and produced by Captain John, timed for New York's Labor Day season. Her other titles include Pong It, Stink and Dutty, At Last for the 2026 season and Love Letter for 2027. She also appears on Afro Wine with Eggy Dan, another US based soca singer from Trinidad.
