Behind the music

The story so far.

Linford John is a cadence-lypso singer and songwriter whose name appears in Wikipedia's account of the music of Dominica among the best known voices of the style, alongside Gordon Henderson, Jeff Joseph and Bill Thomas. He sang lead for the band Bill-O-Men on Voisine, a song written by Bill Patrick Thomas, and he has also written and recorded his own material. Archive uploads credit him as author and composer, under the nickname Acarb, on L'Histoire de Dominique, and as writer of Assez Palé and For Feeling Better, the last described as a blend of soul and cadence-lypso. His single Dominica Sweet appears on Deezer with a 2020 date and on his own YouTube channel. In August 2023 Zouk TV featured him in an episode of Que sont ils devenus, a series whose title asks what became of artists from earlier eras.
