Behind the music

The story so far.

Faith Callender is a Barbadian singer working mainly in soca. In a January 2017 Nation interview she said she had been the Banks Calendar Girl in 2014 and had since made music her main focus; the paper identified her as the singer of Haunted and noted that she had not yet reached the Soca Royale stage. Her work at the time included hotel-circuit engagements, and she had taken on management with Matthew Ashby of Dream Real Projects. In February 2019 Barbados Today reported the listening party for Memories, which it called her first album, an eight-track set produced by the Noise Boyz that ranges across soca, Latin, pop and R&B. The report lists All Night, On My Way, Closer and Minutes among the newer songs, with ManGo, Refill and Give Thanks as soca tracks already familiar to her audience.
