Behind the music
Eddie Neblett is a Guyanese born gospel singer whose fast, rap-style delivery became his trademark. Guyana Times reported in 2016 that he began his gospel career in Guyana, recorded his first song We Can Make It, and broke through with Love N'Unity, which is shared on YouTube as reggae soca. The same report says he worked with his band Second Coming on Anointed, his favourite of his own songs, and that he had returned from the United States to sing at the Lift Every Praise concert. He also cut River as a soca entry for Mashramani, Guyana's carnival season. His streaming catalogue includes Take Me Higher from 2012, Elevation from 2017, Influence of Worship and Again and Again from 2018, Motives and Beautiful from 2019, Reset from 2021 and Not Over from 2022. A recording titled Gospel Soca also appears under his name, fitting a body of work that moves between reggae and soca rhythms.
