Mix DJ covering bouyon, soca and kompa zouk in yearly roundups.
Behind the music
The story so far.
DJ Stylez is a DJ whose YouTube channel runs yearly best-of mixes across French and English Caribbean styles. Bouyon is a regular thread, with a Best of Bouyon mix in 2023 and a Best of Bouyon 2025 mix. Soca gets the same treatment: a Best of 2026 Soca mix, a soca and afrobeat blend for 2025 and an old school soca mix. DJ Stylez also programs kompa and zouk, with a Best of Kompa Zouk mix in 2022 and another for 2025, and has published a 2024 reggae mix built on Beres Hammond, Shaggy, Bob Marley, Sanchez and Wayne Wonder. The titles follow one format, naming the genre and the year so listeners can find the set they want. For anyone new to bouyon, the yearly bouyon mixes are a quick way to hear a season's songs in one sitting.
