Behind the music

The story so far.

Suppa is credited by the French outlet Booska-P as the first face of bouyon gwada, the Guadeloupe branch of the genre. The magazine describes him as a Dominican based in Guadeloupe. Producer J2mothebeatcooker told Booska-P that he made Suppa's first instrumentals, and with them the first bouyon tracks in Guadeloupe, a little before 2010. Booska-P adds that many artists followed in the wake of Suppa, J2mo and Vadore. His songs from that period were posted by Vadore Concept Groupe and the King Bouyon channel around 2011 and 2012. Titles include U Made Or What, Plichéy, and Lacoste with Ti Tchö, which has drawn close to 150,000 views. He also features on No Plastik Toli by Asa Banton, alongside Manlow. Bouyon Swagg with Skinny B appeared on his Wake Up Mixtape, which a 2013 upload describes as a full tape of 43 tracks.
