Behind the music

The story so far.

First Serenade Band is a Dominican group that a 2022 festival report described as an almost 40 year old band, listing it among the local acts on the World Creole Music Festival stage. Its Deezer catalog starts with the Zouke Zouke EP, dated 1988, and continues through albums such as Debouye in 1992, Rough Up de Session in 1994, Chant Dem in 1997, Red Heat in 1999, Jus' Like Dat in 2002 and Body Work in 2007. Rough Up de Session includes Bef La and Maco, and Bef La also has a video on the band's official channel. Newer singles keep the band active: Push Back on Me with Shalina, Nayee and Kalfah P came out in 2020 and was promoted as 2020 Bouyon, and Bouyon Rhythm followed in 2025. Other recent releases include Riches of Dominica with Halibut, Dancing Time with Rangerman, Enjoy Your Life, and Real Mas in 2026.
