Behind the music

The story so far.

Cornell "Fingaz" Phillip is a musician and producer introduced in interviews as a founding member of WCK and of bouyon music. On the AlonzoBash Podcast in 2026 he was presented as one of the genre's original creators, discussing how he and fellow musicians paired Dominica's folk rhythms with electronic instruments. He runs Imperial Publishing, where he mixed and mastered Triple Kay's "Money Relief". His track "Jouer Kadans" appears on Mizik a Nou, a 1997 World Creole Music Festival compilation that also carries several of his other songs. In 2019 he produced the DeBouyon Riddim with Brent Samuel, and the project includes "Breaking Loose" with Carlyn XP, "Reverse" with Shelly, "Big Iron" with Colton T, "Bumpa Fete" with Daddy Chess and "Bouyon 2 D World" with Mr. Benji. In 2024 he produced "Many Waters" with Carlyn XP, written by Devine Songz, and recorded, mixed and mastered it at Imperial Publishing.
