Blackboy is a Saint Lucian Dennery Segment artist known for lyrics delivered heavily in Kwéyòl. When The Voice covered his 2019 double release with the duo Lu City, it called him home-grown Saint Lucian talent and named Fire and By Cout Tet among his hits, adding that he did not want to be confined to one genre. That release paired two songs on LMG Records: Movay, a Lu City track featuring Blackboy and produced by The Busy Twist, and China, Blackboy's own track featuring Lu City and produced by Natoxie on a heavy Dennery Segment bassline. Fire, on the OutLaw Riddim, and By Cout Tet, on G6's Glo Coco Riddim, are both uploaded to his own channel. Land Work came out on Krome Productions' Marigot Bay Riddim in 2018, Gwen with Creeks MX followed in 2019, and Dat Good arrived on the Bad Riddim in 2026. In June 2026 he was among seven Saint Lucians nominated for Dennery Segment Artist of the Year at the Caribbean Music Awards.
