Behind the music

The story so far.

Benjai is Rodney Le Blanc, a singer and songwriter from Malabar in Trinidad and Tobago. In his 2010 Entertainment Macco interview, he described performing and recording reggae, soca and alternative music. He also explained how experience in two bands had encouraged him to consider a group of his own, while stressing that plans were paused at the time. Asked about his strongest asset, he named his ability to communicate with the public and to find melodies and hooks easily. Trini and Phenomenal provide two listening entry points into that repertoire. The latter’s platform credits name Rodney Le Blanc as lyricist and Kitwana Israel as composer.
