Admiral T on musical identity and transmission
In a Karibinfo interview published on January 21, 2025, Admiral T presented Maestro as the album where he puts his own musical colour forward, an identity he said he had built as a Guadeloupean artist after starting in reggae dancehall. He said he worked with musicians from a newer generation, including his son Lewismelo, who has compositions on the album, and described the moment as passing things on without stopping. He named Martinican artist Maleïka among the younger guests. He called Terre de champions, which the article says came out as a single on January 10, an effort to unite listeners and highlight Antillean resilience, while describing other titles as more fun.

The edition opens with MAESTRO, MY FAMILY and IDANTITÉ MIZIKAL, then places TERRE DE CHAMPIONS fourth. Shannon shares the credit on DÈVIZ AN MWEN, Mapy on FANNTJOU, Maleïka on DIASPORA and Shanika on 5 KILOS. The closing JENN BOSS credits Admiral T, Tony Mix, Dcamp and Lewismelo. The interview says Lewismelo composed for the album but does not say which tracks, so no composer credit is assigned to any row. The February 1, 2025 provider date describes this edition; it is separate from the January 10 single date and the January 25 preview show the interview announced at Lacaz’Art in Baie-Mahault.
