Behind the music

The story so far.

Princess Lover, born Nicole Neret, is a zouk singer and songwriter who also works with reggae, soul and R&B influences. Her Aztec Musique biography says she recorded radio jingles as a child and in 1992 scored with "Inmin", sung with her brother Master MX on the Ragga Sun Hit 1 compilation, while the zouk duet "Mizik Lanmou" with Christian Présent charted at the same time. After studying at Alice Dona's variety school from 1997, she lent her voice to projects by Lord Kossity, Mafia Trece and MC Solaar. In 2002 she released the zouk songs "Je sais", a duet with Perle Lama, and "Dans la vie". Her first solo album, Juste moi (Part 1), came out in 2003 and is said to have sold more than 70,000 copies. Its single "Mon soleil" earned her best female performer at the 2006 Trophées des arts afro-caribéens. A second album, Tous mes rêves, followed in 2007, and she later drew large crowds at the fifth Fespam festival in Brazzaville.
